Child's First Visit - Pediatric Dentist - Richmond, Petersburg, Charlottesville and Williamsburg, VA - Randy Adams, DDS and Brandon Allen, DDS

Our office, as well as the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the American Dental Association (ADA), and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) all recommend establishing a "Dental Home" for your child by one year of age.  Children who have a dental home are more likely to receive appropriate preventive and routine oral health care.

The first visit can be pleasant and uneventful. Our goal is to introduce the child and parents to the dental office. Expose them to the dental environment and establish a base line to follow as the child ages. Emphasis is on the developmental assessment of the child’s oral health. Tooth decay or developmental disturbances can be managed better if we start early.
